Eden McIntyre is a Scottish writer and editor for stage and screen, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, and currently paying council tax there.
He is a BBC Writers Scottish Voice, a graduate of MA TV Fiction Writing at Glasgow Caledonian University, and a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in English Studies and Film & Media Studies from the University of Stirling.
He has judged the international creative writing competition NYC Midnight since 2021 and maintains a list of editing and script-reading clients, including commissioned playwrights and BAFTA-winning screenwriters.
As a writer, Eden has won various competitions, including 2023’s Short Com TV Sitcom Writing for his supernatural comedy Graham Reaper, and has been shortlisted for Papatango, The Frank Moffett Mossier Fellowship, The Script Lab and Screen & Story Film Festival’s Screenwriting Competitions, and more. He’s self-produced short plays, pub theatre, staged readings, and broadcast radio shows, and in 2021, completed the 28 Plays Later Challenge, writing a brand-new mini-play to brief each day of February.
Eden has been developing JACK VETTRIANO CAN’T PAINT! for Pitlochry Festival Theatre since April 2025, commissioned by Alan Cumming over a couple of soups, with its world premiere scheduled for Summer 2027.
He is most interested in writing socially conscious dramas and comedies, especially those focusing on working-class politics and conflicts, while finding humour in the mundane and often frustrating everyday. He loves naturalistic dialogue and often writes in Glaswegian dialects, as well as Scots. Above all else, he is dedicated to Scottish storytelling.
When he isn’t crafting his next script or helping writers develop their ideas, Eden can be found writing biographies in the third person.
Eden McIntyre is rep’d as a writer by Michael Eliot-Finch at Brennan Artists.
